Terms of Service

1. The Service

Chaebi helps with the whole trip journey: planning, budget and members; expense, receipt and photo logging; per-member settlement and confirmation; and photo albums, stats and review. The Service is operated by an independent developer and features may be added, changed, or discontinued without prior notice.

2. Accounts

You can start anonymously and securely preserve your data by linking a Google or Apple account. You are responsible for your login credentials and device security. If you delete the app or change devices while anonymous and unlinked, your data may not be recoverable.

3. User Content

You own and are responsible for the content you add (trips, photos, receipts, notes, account info). Only upload content you have the right to use, and do not infringe others’ rights. The operator stores and processes content as needed to provide the Service.

4. Invites and Sharing

Inviting members to a trip shares that trip’s information (expenses, photos, settlement, registered payout account, etc.) with them. You are responsible for managing invite codes/links and the scope of sharing.

5. Nature of Settlement and Limitation

Chaebi’s settlement is a calculation and record tool based on the expense and split information you enter. Chaebi does not execute transfers, payments, or financial transactions, and any registered account information is provided only to display and copy for settlement among members. The accuracy of amounts, whether transfers actually occur, and disputes between members are the users’ responsibility, and the operator is not liable for them.

6. Prohibited Conduct

• Accessing or manipulating others’ accounts or data without authorization
• Disrupting normal operation or accessing the Service by abnormal means
• Uploading content that violates laws or others’ rights
• Copying, modifying, reverse-engineering, or commercially misappropriating the Service

7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as-is.” The operator is not liable for data loss or damages arising from causes beyond reasonable control, such as force majeure, network/cloud outages, or your own device/account mismanagement. Protect important data with account linking and backups. The operator’s liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

8. Changes and Discontinuation

The operator may change or discontinue all or part of the Service and will provide reasonable notice of material changes via the app or this page.

9. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes follow the procedures and competent courts set by applicable law. Mandatory provisions of your place of residence may also apply to global users.

10. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised; we will post the effective date and key changes on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes agreement to the revised terms.
